Abercorn Care Limited's Training Policy is designed to underpin our training philosophy, encourage learning and add to the skill levels of the Home. Availability of training courses are advertised with details being placed on the staff notice boards and from information passed on by the Home's Manager. Funding will be considered for courses in direct support of professional development covering care of the elderly.
The link below lets you see and read the full Abercorn Care Limited's Training Policy and states how training within the Company is determined, carried out and recorded. It is divided into three areas covering trained staff, care/ancillary staff and agency staff:
Prior to attendance at any training and development event, staff should discuss their expectations with the Home's Manager or Strategy & Training Director. On return from a course, the success of the event will be evaluated by the individual and discussed with the Manager. Training record forms have been developed for this purpose and copies should be kept by the person attending an event. All staff will receive a personal training and development folder (also known as a portfolio) upon employment within Abercorn Care Limited. This includes a personal copy of the training and development policy, a statement about the Company's commitment to learning and a section where training records such as certificates of attendance, training needs analysis forms, annual training record sheets, and training evaluation forms can be kept. Other papers such as induction programmes, course handouts etc may also be kept in the folder.
